Ultra High-Field MRI Onsite Collaboration Scientist (f/m/d) Cardiodiabetes (temporary for 3 years)

Then come and join our team as Ultra High-Field MRI Onsite Collaboration Scientist* (f/m/d) to coordinate and drive collaborative research activities between Siemens Healthineers and our Partner Institution Center for CARDiovascular Research in DIABetes (CARDDIAB), Heinrich Heine University Duesseldorf, with latest 7 Tesla Magnetic Resonance Imaging for research in the field of cardiodiabetes.
In this role, based at the site of one of our partners in Duesseldorf, North Rhine Westphalia , you will be embedded in our international and interdisciplinary EMEA Scientific Partnerships network and will be in close contact with the Ultra-High-Field (UHF) innovation and global collaboration teams of our Business Line Magnetic Resonance in the headquarter.
This position is to be filled on a temporary basis for 3 years.
Your tasks and responsibilities:
The research programm of CARDIABB aims to investigate cardiovascular characterization and organ-specific metabolism in different organs. It includes anatomical imaging, molecular and metabolic methods with different nuclei ( 2 H, 19 F, 31 P and 13 C hyperpolarization) . Spectroscopic techniques and quantitive MRI are central to the planned research
You will ensure the successful planning, execution and completion of (joint) research projects (SW and HW) in collaboration with the Partner Institution.
You will support the development and deployment of novel metabolic imaging and (multi-nuclear) spectroscopy sequences, advanced reconstruction techniques and innovative radiofrequency technology
You will drive the validation of technical concepts for future product integration, and continuous collection of feedback for prototypes and coordinate communication amongst the participating departments
You will actively contribute to our EMEA expert meetings as part of our large UHF community and maintain regular contact and contribute to the predevelopment roadmaps of the UHF team in Erlangen

Your qualifications and experience:
You have successfully completed a doctoral degree (PhD) in MR Physics, Medical Informatics, Signal or Image Processing, Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent field
In the course of achieving this PhD, you have gained initial sound academic experience in the field of MR Physics, sequence development and image reconstruction (C++, IDEA, ICE), signal or image processing (Matlab), data management, data analysis and visualization
Alternatively, you have successfully completed a master's degree in the aforementioned areas and have already gained several years of relevant professional and/or academic experience
You have expertise in MR spectroscopy ( 1 H and X nuclei) as well as experience or interest in cardiovascular and whole body applications
You have experience in designing research studies and have a significant publication record, including several co-author articles in peer-reviewed international scientific journals
Your attributes and skills:
You will be working in an (inter-) national and interdisciplinary environment, therefore you bring excellent English skills in both spoken and written form, and are able collaborate with different stakeholders on an equal footing. Further German language skills would be a plus
You are an organizational talent with a high degree of autonomy, process-orientation, attention to detail, while creative at finding solutions through personal communication
You have a great passion and enthusiasm for innovations in the field of healthcare
You are looking forward to occasional business trips to our headquarter in Erlangen in order to also work closely with our Business Line Magnetic Resonance (approx. 20%)
