The Scope
To oversee the implementation of FSCs rules for international standard-setting and to develop tools and approaches to increase the accessibility, efficiency and effectiveness of FSC requirements that define sustainability practices all over the world. You will be directly contributing to how our strict standards are developed, how to secure their quality and robustness, and how to ensure the effective stakeholder engagement. In particular, in this role you will be determining process flows and process management tools that will impact the majority of the entire standard setting in FSC, working across teams with highly competent colleagues.
Main Roles & Responsibilities
- To oversee and support the implementation of FSC’s standard setting procedure, related documents and templates with the aim to enhance effectiveness and efficiency of standard development and revision processes.
- To manage the annual schedule of planned processes for development and revision of FSC requirements.
- To coordinate the Performance and Standards Unit input to digitization processes of FSC policies, standards and procedures and associated platforms and tools.
- To manage development and adaptation of internal quality management processes related to setting robust standards and implementation of new technologies.
- To maintain the requirements for FSC accredited certification bodies, including related documents and development of interpretations.
- To manage the development, review and revision of other core FSC requirements as agreed with the supervisor.
- Additional tasks as agreed with the supervisor.
Your profile
Education and Training
- Msc University or technical college degree in a relevant field (e.g. quality management, international relations, social sciences, business administration).
Working Experience, Style and Skills
- At least 5 years of applicable professional experience (for example, in development of procedures, standards, guidelines and strategies for ISEAL members, ISO or other standard setting organizations, FSC).
- Proven successful project management experience (minimum 2 years and with demonstrated successful completion).
- Quality management experience is an asset.
- Auditor experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently.
- A very strong sense for diligence and accuracy.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to plan and organize work.
- Service and solution-oriented attitude to work.
- Proactiveness and high level of engagement.
- Style oriented on collaboration and team cohesiveness.
- Administration skills.
Digital Skills
- Good skills in the use of/experience with standard software packages (MS Office).Good understanding for database applications / database architecture
Languages and Communication Skills
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to explain complex topics in a simple and user-friendly manner to non-technical audience.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to work in multi-cultural and diverse team.
- Excellent English (spoken and written).

The Fine Print
- Location: Bonn, Germany.
- Working Hours: Full time - 40 hours per week.
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Duration of Employment: Initial 2 year contract with the intend to move to open-ended.
