Senior Commercial Manager (f/m/d)

Our commercial team is currently seeking a Senior Commercial Manager with outstanding project management skills and substantial experience in the railway industry. The ideal candidate will have more than 10 years of experience, managing long-term projects related to the procurement or leasing of rolling stock, as well as expertise in tender processes within the rail sector. Furthermore, a background in engineering or finance is highly desirable.
This role will involve regular work at the Cologne office and travel across Germany. If you’re interested in this position but are not currently based in the Cologne area, Alpha Trains offers relocation support.

DIESE AUFGABEN WARTEN AUF SIE

  • Handling the national and international growth and development of the company’s leasing activities from the Cologne office
  • Managing projects related to the current fleet and developing new-build projects
  • Working on multi-year European tenders for railway operations and rolling stock
  • Leading and collaborating with interdisciplinary project teams on the conception, development, negotiation, and documentation of complex commercial contracts with customers and suppliers
  • Providing the interface to customers, suppliers, and internal departments such as Engineering, Finance, Accounting and Legal, in compliance with the Alpha Trains’ Vision, Mission and Values
  • Creative involvement in developing our product offerings and operational procedures

MIT DIESEN TALENTEN ERGÄNZEN SIE UNSER TEAM

The best qualifications for this position are:

  • Ideally 10+ years of experience in railway related project management or account management with a focus on sales and business development
  • Master’s degree or similar in business administration / economics / MBA or similar
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multi-year tenders
  • Ability to structure projects and steer them by managing all relevant stakeholders
  • Good knowledge of public tender law is a plus
  • Analytical mindset and good attention to detail
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills as well as planning and organisation skills
  • Experience in (key) account management, dealing with customers and suppliers on all management levels
  • Understanding of the European railway market and its regulations
  • Good networker and outgoing personality
  • Willingness to frequent travelling (Europe)
  • Fluent in German and English
