Meo Carbon Solutions is an independent consulting company focusing on sustainability advancement. We support public and private sector clients worldwide in the strategic orientation and implementation of goal-oriented measures towards more sustainable production pathways and ecologically and socially responsible business activities. Our aim is to help clients achieve carbon-neutrality and net-zero by developing corporate sustainability strategies, calculating product and company carbon footprints as well as implementing sustainability measures, emission compensation and carbon trading. We are also involved in the development and implementation of sustainability standards to ensure sustainable value chains and social compliance.
At Meo we are a close team of highly motivated, supportive and committed young professionals with a multitude of backgrounds. Due to our continued growth, we are looking for a full-time Intern focusing on Sustainable Agricultural Supply Chains. - You will actively support shaping the development and implementation of a new certification system for sustainable peat substitutes that are used in potting soils and professional substrates as an alternative to peat (HORTICERT).
- You will manage the web maintenance as well as communication and public relations of HORTICERT, especially on LinkedIn.
- You will work on topics related to sustainability certification including administrative tasks, further development of sustainability requirements, supply chain traceability, alignment with legal requirements, accreditation, quality management and integrity program.
- You will support the application of new digital tools for audit processes.
- You will support customized greenhouse gas calculations for substrate supply chains applying the new HORTICERT standard methodology and support its development.
- You will be involved in customer care and communication with system users.
- You will perform data research, analysis and evaluations for specific customer requests and the preparation of reports and market studies.
Your profile
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in agricultural science, organic agriculture, environmental engineering, natural resource management, natural sciences, life sciences, sustainable management, or other related fields with full-time availability for 6 months.
- Additional experience in the following areas of advantage: sustainability certification, policy consulting, GHG/ carbon footprint calculation, stakeholder management.
- Excellent communication skills in German and English, both written and verbal.
- Good presentation skills as well as the ability to explain complex issues in simple terms and to prepare professional presentations according to target group.
- High degree of initiative and commitment combined with an independent working style and pragmatic, hands-on attitude.
- Very good computer and MS Office skills, IT proficiency is a benefit.
