Your tasks

Global Risk Assessment Services (GRAS) is an innovative service and information provider offering environmental and social knowledge for fully traceable and sustainable supply chains. If you are passionate about sustainability and would like to join our highly motivated and diverse teams to make a difference, we are looking for a talented and enthusiastic intern who is proficient in R programming and has a strong understanding of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). The ideal candidate will assist in developing, maintaining, troubleshooting and optimizing R scripts for spatial data analysis and visualization. Your main tasks will include:

  • Develop and maintain R scripts for geospatial data processing, analysis, and visualization
  • Perform spatial data analysis using GIS tools and techniques
  • Assist in resolving costumer requests and tickets
  • Document workflows and maintain code repositories

Your profile

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field with full-time availability for 6 months
  • Very good proficiency in R programming, including experience with packages such as sf, terra, and dplyr.
  • Strong understanding of GIS concepts and tools (e.g., QGIS)
  • Experience with spatial data analysis and visualization
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Good to have skills:

  • Knowledge of AWS and Linux
  • Familiarity with Project Management, Helpdesk and Customer Management Systems such as Freshdesk, FreshSales, JIRA
  • Experience with RESTful APIs
