Your Role
As Engineering Manager - QA & Software Release Management you will build and lead a small engineering team. The team’s mission is to structure the outcomes of our continuous development process (including regular new builds and daily releases) and channel them into well-defined, high-quality software releases to enable an additional, versioned release scheme.
The deploy of these software releases into staging and productive environments is coordinated with our customers by you and your team. At the same time, the team will improve our QA processes and establish procedures to reduce the defect rate within our Product. Additionally to your work within the team, you cooperate in a management team together with other Engineering Managers, as well as the Engineering Directors and VP Engineering.
How You Make an Impact
- In the beginning of your journey, you build and design the general processes for the company regarding QA procedures and Software Release Management. Based on your designs, you then build a small team to support you with this mission.
- You coach, mentor and help your direct reports to grow as engineers through 1:1s, performance reviews and regular feedback
- You work closely with your team and other squads within the company to ensure high quality software releases with thorough QA-prodecures to guarantee functional stability
- You coordinate software deployments of different versions for our customers with external technical stakeholders via different deployment stages such as staging and productive.
- You monitor the resolution of software defects and vulnerabilities in different versions of the software and ensure mitigation within all relevant versions of the product
- You evolve the team by identifying and attracting talent during the recruiting process and shape the individual growth paths of your direct reports
- You shape engineering practices by contributing your ideas in technical or organizational projects in the department
Your Profile

- You have a proven skillset to lead and manage a group of Software Engineers and are comfortable to apply this for a wide range of engineer skill levels (from Junior to Staff Engineer)
- You have strong experience in QA and testing procedures for web application software and are knowledgeable in the area of Software Release Management
- You have a strong track record of coordinating and communicating with external technical stakeholders, ideally in a security critical environment or with large corporations
- You are experienced in growing and forming a diverse team by recruiting and subsequent teambuilding
- You have excellent communication skills and are motivated to coach Engineers on their personal and professional growth path
- You are familiar with parts of our tech stack and are confident to work with it
- You are business-fluent in German (Level C1/C2) and fluent in English (Level B2)
